Editor friend needs BRIDESMAID stories! Here’s the info and instructions from Valerie Berrios and her email to send your stories valerieberrios78@hotmail.com:
**Calling all brides and bridesmaids (past and present)… Tell me your
stories!
I’m the author of the forthcoming Town & Country: The Bridesmaid’s Companion (Jan. 2010), and I’m looking for quotes reflecting your experiences either with your own bridesmaid(s) and/or attending a
bride.
Please respond to as many of the following prompts as you can (even one is fine!) and include your first name and current age.
NOTE:
I’m looking for especially sweet, sassy, and funny anecdotes. The more colorful or poignant the quotes, the better!
**Provide a brief quote about a prewedding event. For example, as it relates to… -The bridal shower (planning for it, decorating, a funny gift, a special moment, etc.) -The bachelorette party (THE highlight of the night, a hilarious memory, etc.) -The bridemaids’ luncheon (what it meant to you?) -The rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner
**Provide a brief quote about the day of the wedding. For example, as it relates to… -Getting ready
(makeup/hair, dressing the bride, etc.; how you eased a frazzled bride?) -The processional (did you or your bridesmaid avert a literal “trip” down the aisle?) -A moment at the altar (funny ring story that
involved a bridesmaid?) -The recessional -The receiving line (did one of your bridesmaids save you from your chatty Aunt Patty?) -The reception (was there an over-the-top bridesmaids’ dance?) -A speech or toast
(unforgettable words from the maid of honor?)
**Provide a brief quote about after the wedding. For example, as it relates to… -The send-off brunch -The honeymoon or homecoming (did your BMs do something extra-special for you and your new hubby… surprise you with a romantic gift basket, perhaps?) -A postwedding get-together (did you and the other
BMs bond and meet up after the wedding to share a few laughs?) -Mementos (did you create a wedding scrapbook or shadow box for the bride?)
As a reminder, please include your first name and current age. Your responses will be much appreciated!
